Weight Loss Injection.

Great news for some of our patients! As of Monday, June 23, 2025, a weight loss injection called Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) is now available on the NHS for certain individuals. This medication is designed to help you feel fuller for longer and reduce hunger, supporting weight loss when combined with a healthy diet and increased physical activity.

Please be aware that this treatment is initially for a limited number of patients who have the highest health risks related to their weight. You may be eligible if you have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or more, and at least four other weight-related health problems, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, or obstructive sleep apnoea. There will be a phased rollout of this service, and our practice will be contacting patients who meet the specific NHS England criteria in due course.
