E-Consultations – For babies under six months.
E-Consults are not recommended, as they are not designed for this age group for safety reasons. Parents therefore cannot submit eConsults for babies under six months old. For urgent concerns, parents should contact a health professional directly or use the NHS 111 service. The Lullaby Trust’s Baby Check app is a useful tool for parents to assess if their baby needs to see a doctor for symptoms of illness.
For urgent concerns
- Contact your GP or call the NHS 111 service for immediate advice.
- If your baby has severe symptoms such as difficulty breathing, a non-stop fit, or a rash that doesn’t fade under a glass, seek urgent medical attention immediately.
For general health advice and illness assessment
